Pharmacist Administering Influenza Vaccination

Our Pharmacist Mark giving a flu shot

A short consultation in our private consultation room is required to check that it is safe for the flu shot to be administered. You are also required to wait in the pharmacy for 15 minutes after the vaccine has been administered to make sure there are no adverse reactions, so make sure you set aside a bit of time if you are getting one.

We can only administer the vaccine to people over the age of 18.

Some people are eligible to get the vaccination for free, this is only available through your Doctor. Groups eligible for free influenza vaccines are:

  • People aged 65 years and over
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 0 to 5 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are aged 10 years and over
  • Pregnant women
  • People aged six months and over with medical conditions such as severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes that can lead to complications from influenza.
