Our Pharmacists Can Now Administer Selected Vaccinations – no script required
A short consultation in our private consultation room is required to check that it is safe for the vaccination to be administered. You are also required to wait in the pharmacy for 15 minutes after the vaccine has been administered to make sure there are no adverse reactions, so make sure you set aside a bit of time if you are getting one.
We can only administer the flu vaccine to people over the age of 10,
the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) and Whooping cough vaccines to people over the age of 16.
Some people are eligible to get the flu vaccination for free. Groups eligible for free influenza vaccines are:
- People aged 65 years and over
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 0 to 5 years
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are aged 10 years and over
- Pregnant women
- People aged six months and over with medical conditions such as severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes that can lead to complications from influenza.
